Amie Gonser Fine Art

Artist Statement

My paintings function as a visual language and a transformation of lived experience. I interpret places, physical sensations, and emotions through light, shadow, color, line, and form. Each work serves as a page in a visual journal, recording locations I have sought out intentionally or encountered by chance. Through these paintings, I invite viewers to share in my perception of place and to engage with what I observed and felt during the act of creation.

When working en plein air, I experience a heightened sense of presence. Time feels suspended, external distractions fall away, and I am fully immersed in the urgency and excitement of capturing a scene before the light changes.
