Let's Take the High Road
This painting was done in Marble Falls as my "quick draw" competition piece during the Paint the Town Plein air competition. Artists were given ninety minutes to complete a painting and the artwork had to be created within a certain boundary near downtown. I found this empty lot of wildflowers which sat below a street leading into the downtown area. I was drawn to the many colors of the flowers and grasses growing there, but also loved the "pops" of red from the two distant stop signs on the hill.
